The Julian Mercer Journal
A serialized fictional journey of one man's return to himself — shaped by real roads, real experiences, and the moments that happen when a successful life no longer feels like enough.
From The Boardroom To The Backroads
Julian Mercer spent thirty-two years building a successful corporate life in Dallas, Texas. Then one evening, he walks away from it. What follows is an ongoing journey through motorcycles, roads, strangers, setbacks, solitude and the slow discovery of the man who has been waiting underneath the life he built.
Begin The Journey
Thirty-two years at the same firm, and the resignation letter takes four sentences. One final night above Dallas leads Julian to an old motorcycle waiting in his garage — and toward a life he had stopped believing was still his.

Back To Life
Julian begins the slow process of uncovering, cleaning, repairing and preparing the motorcycle that has been sitting untouched for almost a decade. As the machine comes back to life, something inside Julian begins to wake up as well.
Entry 02 — Coming Soon →The First Road
Julian finally leaves Dallas behind and discovers that freedom isn't nearly as simple as he imagined.
Entry 03 — Coming Soon →The Road Ahead
The Stranger
A chance encounter introduces Julian to someone who challenges an assumption he didn't realize he carried.
The Wrong Turn
Julian discovers that one of the hardest things for a man accustomed to control is accepting that the road doesn't care about his plans.
The Long Night
A difficult night on the road forces Julian to confront the silence he spent decades avoiding.
The Campfire
An ordinary evening becomes an unexpected conversation and one of the first moments when Julian speaks honestly about the life he left behind.
The Breakdown
The motorcycle fails. Julian can't fix the problem with a phone call, an assistant or a credit card. He has to deal with what is in front of him.
The Road Home
Julian returns to somewhere familiar and discovers that coming back doesn't necessarily mean returning to the person you were.
The Horizon
The mountains Julian spent years imagining finally become more than a distant idea beyond the Dallas skyline.
The Next Mile
Julian begins to understand that there may never be a final destination — and perhaps that's the point.
More Miles To Come
The story remains open. New roads, encounters and hard-earned lessons will continue to shape Julian's journey.
The Julian Mercer Journal is fictional, but the road beneath the fiction is informed by real motorcycle experiences from a five-month adventure. True events, encounters, observations, challenges and places may be woven into Julian's journey and expanded through fictional storytelling.
The Road Back To Myself
The motorcycle is only the beginning. The real journey is what happens to Julian once the road gives him enough distance to finally hear himself think.
